A1 vocabulary focused on concrete, immediate nouns: family members, foods, numbers, transport, basic verbs. A2 vocabulary shifts towards more abstract language — feelings and opinions, professional life, complex situations. You also start learning collocations (words that go together) and reflexive verbs (sich freuen, sich ärgern) that are essential for expressing personal reactions.
The nine A2 themes mirror the topics tested in the Goethe-Zertifikat A2 exam: work and professional life, education and training, shopping and money, extended health vocabulary, housing and neighbourhood, food and cooking, media and communication, nature and weather, and feelings and opinions.
